Another Challenge..

I was watching Therese's latest video, (she does fabulous videos, to the point and generously full of techniques!),  at at her blog Lost In Paper (link here), where she mentions a couple of challenges that I haven't interacted with before.

One is Wanna Sketch at Lisa Arana's Blog, Dahlhouse Designs.

I had been playing with some stamps and realised that the card I had made "sort of" fits, it's a bit simple but here goes!

Thanks for looking!

SSS Wednesday Challenge #2

Here is a second card, made for the PTI MIM challenge this week, using an interesting background technique (see earlier post and link here). You can see the shimmer of the pigment ink faintly on the card, also on the darker leaves, which allow the ink to show through.

I took another photograph for this entry as the previous ones didn't do justice to the colours. It is very pretty and soft in reality. (My daughter has taken back her lovely camera for another project, so I am reduced to using far inferior equipment...that's my story anyway ;)

I include this card as I think it would be good to use for either a wedding or anniversary.

Thanks for looking!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge 2014-19-02

Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog

Here is my entry for the SSS WC which I haven't entered before, but it's weddings or anniversaries this week and I sometimes have difficulty with wedding cards...

This is a card I have made for older friends who are planning to wed soon. They are keen bushwalkers, nature lovers and lead simple enviable lives, this colouring seemed appropriate for them.

I don't have any Prima flowers, but enter this anyway as this card has I made a MFT daisy flower to use a focal point.

Also, I tried generational stamping for the first time with this card, and love the effect of depth it produces.

Thanks for looking,
Di

PTI MIM #152 Post Number Three

This final sample I made used white pigment ink on white cardstock.
The outcome is far more subtle than the others I tried, but it does give an interesting effect while leaving the card clean and straightforward.

For this card I used:
Cardstock
Neenah Solar White
PTI Ripe Avocado

Stamps
Meadow Greens
Signature Greetings 2
Natural Beauties

Inks
SU Whisper White Pigment Ink
PTI Raspberry Fizz
PTI Pure Poppy
PTI Simply Chartreuse
PTI Spring Moss
Memento Tuxedo Black

That's it for today. An interesting technique and one I will definitely use again.

Hopefully, I'll see you soon! Thanks for looking.

PTI MIM Post Number Two

Here is my second sample...

The background vine pattern was a little sparse on this little card sample I made, so I used the Spring Rain ink to stamp over it to provide more texture...and found that it added interesting depth to the layer.

For this card I used:
Cardstock
Light & dark blue cardstock from my stash (Indeterminate aetiology)

Stamps
Ruby Rose
Turning a New Leaf

Inks
Brilliance Pearlescent Ice Blue Pigment Ink
PTI Enchanted Evening
PTI Spring Rain

Other
3 medium jewels

Thanks for looking....one more post to go...

PTI MIM #152

Hello,
well I have been away for so long due to a period of illness which struck me down on Christmas Eve, what great timing I have!
However, I'm starting to feel more like joining the human race again and when I viewed the PTI MIM technique, (View here), I thought I might just have a try at it. It is a technique I haven't seen used before...and I quite like the results.

My samples gave a varying degree of background texture and interest and although I don't have many pigment inks, I found enough in my long neglected stash to have some fun this morning.

The Platinum Planet ink used with the large fern stamp from the Meadow greens stamp set leaves a beautiful soft shimmery texture on the card which shows through the dye inks, particularly on the solid leaf stamp, giving a subtle interesting effect.

For this card I used:
Cardstock
Soft Stone

Stamps
Meadow Greens
Signature Greetings 2
Natural Beauties

Inks
Brilliance Platinum Planet Pigment Ink
PTI Smokey Shadow
PTI Ocean Tides
PTI Classic Kraft
PTI Dark Chocolate

Other
3 small clear jewels

An interesting technique and one I will definitely use again. I will do a couple more posts so I can add the links to the PTI site.

Hopefully, I'll see you again soon! Thanks for looking.
